Pageant of the Masters & So You Think You Can Dance!

This past week, we went to see the Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. It was amazing! If you have never been to the Pageant of the Masters it will be hard to describe the wonderful experience of seeing beautiful works of art, recreated using real people while still looking like a 2D painting. We had so much fun, it is now a family tradition to go every summer!

You know that Jodi and I love So You Think You Can Dance! We voted for a solid two hours this week for Danny - he's a gifted dancer and Danny's mother also happens to be my sister's dance teacher, as well! Small world! This season had so many wonderful dancers and we can't wait to watch next season. Congratulations to Sabra for winning the competition, you're awesome!

Drum Corps International 2007

If you do not know what DCI is, here is a link that will give you more information on the activity.

I marched in the Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps as a member of the front ensemble (better known as the "pit") for 2002, 2003 and was section leader in 2004. This past sunday, Jodi and I went to see a Drum Corps show that was being hosted by Mt. Carmel High School and I saw a bunch of my old instructors (now teaching the Carolina Crown percussion section). I was able to catch up with my old pit instructor and then I helped the pit move their equipment out onto the field and watched from the sidelines. The Carolina Crown show was absolutely amazing! By far, my favorite of the season; the Bluecoats were a very close second. Jodi and I also went to see the Drum Corps International World Championship Quarterfinals in the theaters this past Thursday. Here are some pictures from the Carolina Crown Pit warmup and a video - they're awesome!
